Post Cinematic Formation 2010-2022

This clip is an example of new digital effects and CGI being introduced in the early 2010s. Watching this film was an emotional rollercoaster and it felt more realistic than films such as Matrix. In the 26th second of this clip, you can see how these two actors are sitting and portraying their reaction to the blaze, and something is used on set to create the windy effect. The age of pro-film media is gradually decreasing as big blockbusters are using more technology to create a creative environment, such as the unreal engine, or virtual sets in series such as The Mandalorian. Bordwell backs this up by saying this is a new avant-garde style saying classical cinema is losing its techniques and context, it does not go far enough its order is lost. The glitch and deep-dream theme had been circulating in this era this was a creative way of penetrating reality, The Matrix does this better by making people or settings glitch out like the reality is all non-real. A glitch derived from video games as it was something that happened unexpectedly and/or without knowing the reason, it was like a new paranormal activity in the digital era.

On the other hand, you might argue there is a loss of order or a schizoid franticness, this new editing might make directors lose focus on what affect and effect they are trying to portray. It depends on different age groups as well. Different generations have different tastes in different aesthetics, (Gabler, 2012). Blockbuster movies are all about sensory overload it is something that comes from video games, TikTok etc. A lot of millennials find old movies technically primitive, politically incorrect, and narratively slow.’ We arere in an information age, since we are in web2 and about to go into web3 internet age’s objectivity ends and subjectivity is represented through media creating instability.
