In the past year or so, TikTok has become one of the most popular social media platforms. For those who are unfamiliar, TikTok is a phone app where people can watch short videos. These videos can be funny, creative, and/or musical. Many people use TikTok to lip-sync or dance to popular songs. Due to the popularity of the app, it has become a new way for artists to promote their music. In this blog post, we will discuss how TikTok has created a new landscape for music promotion and how this is impacting the music industry as a whole.
TikTok provides a unique opportunity for artists to promote their music. Unlike other social media platforms such as YouTube or Instagram, TikTok videos are only allowed to be 60 seconds long. This means that artists have to be creative in how they use this limited time to promote their song. Some ways that artists have used TikTok to promote their music include making creative dance videos set to their song, filming short skits that incorporate their song, or simply posting clips of them lip-syncing to their song.
Because of the short attention span of most people who use TikTok, artists only have a limited amount of time to grab someone’s attention. This has led to many artists trying new and innovative ways to promote their music on the platform. As a result, we are seeing a lot of creativity in the type of content that is being produced by both established and up-and-coming artists. One example is how Meghan Trainor made a impressive comeback by having her song ” Made You Look” top charts because it went viral on Tik-Tok
While TikTok is mainly used as a way to promote songs, it is also having an impact on the production of music videos. In the past, artist would release a music video alongside their song in order to help promote it. However, with the rise of TikTok, we are seeing fewer traditional music videos being released by artists. This is because many artists are choosing to produce content for TikTok instead of traditional music videos.
The reason for this shift is that producing content for Tik Tok is often cheaper and easier than producing a traditional music video. In addition, there is no guarantee that releasing a traditional music video will lead to increased promotion or sales for a song. On the other hand, if an artist’s TikTok video goes viral, it can lead to a huge increase in both Promotion and sales.
TikTok has become one of the most popular social media platforms in recent months and it is having a big impact on both how songs are promoted and how music videos are produced. Due to the short attention span of most people who use TikTok, artists only have a limited amount of time to grab someone’s attention. This has led to many artists trying new and innovative ways to promote their music on the platform. As a result, we are seeing a lot of creativity in the type of content that is being produced by both established and up-and-coming artists. While some may see this as a negative development, I believe that it is ultimately leading to more creativity in the music industry as a whole.
