We watched “Detention” on week one and I think this movie is so dramatic, so I watched it again after I back home. I have to say the plot of this movie is fantastic and complicated, and it combined so many themes on it. Its mainly talked about a group of high school students are caught in a time loop after discovering a murder case at school and they need to break it as soon as possible to avoid more serious consequences.

  For this movie, in my opinion, this film, which was released in 2011, used a variety of special effects that were not very common in the production process. Some scenes created by digital special effects can be said that has impressed the audience, such as the visual effects used in the time loop and other supernatural factors. The use of these special effects makes this film more appropriate to the science fiction theme. In addition, the film Also chooses to embed animation illustrations to present some fragments to make them look more vivid. These animation elements can enhance the visual effect of the audience and make them more attractive, which just contrasts with the traditional film style to form a contrast.  

   This film can be used as an example of making full use of digital special effects at that time, which is also closely related to the digitalization of film and television. Many weird sci-fi visual effects in the film cannot be realized by traditional special effects, and only digital special effects technology can realize such scenes. And in the post-production process, I think this kind of digital synthesis can also make the film present the real and unreal scenes. After a film is digitized, it can also be more easily disseminated and publicized through Internet channels, which is also the most effective way to increase popularity and increase cultural influence.

To be honest, The film has received mixed reviews from the audience, with many even using the word “awful” to describe it. It may be controversial because of its bizarre narrative and complex cultural background, but I think it is the weirdness and non-traditional nature of the film that can encourage people to accept the uniqueness of others and show people that they can not live in a traditional framework。By the way, I quite like this movie cuz it has really shown something in a special way.
