talking about bingewatching, global reach using Master of None

Amanda Lotz(2017) notes that platforms such as netflix have dismantled traditional network constraints which allows creators to explore unconventional narratives and address issues that affect them deeply and what they care about, this show Master of none leverages this freedom to craft a deeply personal and socially conscious series!!

Lotz(2017) argues that streaming platforms can enable “stories that deviate from network norms” and this can be immeditatlyey seen within the 2nd episode of the show as it delves into immigrant experiences, queer identity offering persepctives that are really seen on network tv. During the 4th episode “Indians on TV” it applies a critique to hollywood stereotyping which also reinforces kevin mcdonald and daniel smith-rowseys(2016) claim that streaming services which inherently foster socially conscious narratives. These episode felt refreshing to me because they conveyed universal themes of belonging whilst staying rooted in cultural context’s.

Jenner (2018) highlights the role that netlfix plays in fostering bing watching which makes the viewer much more engaged as by releasing entire seasons all at once it encourages immersiona nd involvement within its narratives which is what they did with this show. The second season actually has a non-linear narrative aligning with jenners observation on fragmented viewing habits which i found compelling as it mirrors unprediciabtlity within liife but also relationships

btw this review is quite nice https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Ftv-and-radio%2F2015%2Fnov%2F06%2Faziz-ansari-master-of-none-netflix&psig=AOvVaw3TgwtUwR6c4wLXP-UOMCHu&ust=1732919780280000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBQQjRxqFwoTCLDk3bGLgIoDFQAAAAAdAAAAABAE

Lotz (2017) also notes that Netflix’s global reach allows for culturally specific stories to resonate with international audiences. *Master of None* exemplifies this through its authentic portrayal of immigrant experiences and interracial relationships. For me, this global relevance adds depth, as it connects viewers from diverse backgrounds to shared human struggles.

In summary Matser of none demonstrates Netflix’s transformative impact on television,( i recommend you to watch the show) as it blends innovative story telling combined with authentic representation aligning itself with Lotz visionof “televiosn without the network” and also aligns with Jenners nisnights on bing viewing culture. For me this show is a reminder of how story telling can bridge these cultural divides whilst also pushing creative boundaries.
